Privacy Policy for SRI XR

Effective Date: May 2, 2025

Scope

  • This policy applies to the SRI XR mobile applications on iOS and Android and any related web interfaces.

Information

  • We Do Not Collect
  • We do not collect or store any personal identifiers, including names, email addresses, IP addresses, or device identifiers.
  • We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or any tracking tools in our applications.

User Input & Speech Processing

  • Any text or audio you provide to our AI Assistant is sent over an encrypted connection (TLS 1.2 or higher) to OpenAI’s API for real-time processing.
  • Neither Pi tech nor OpenAI retain logs of your inputs beyond the immediate request. We use Meta’s Speech SDK for speech-to-text and text-to-speech conversions; audio is captured only while the app is actively running and is neither stored locally nor transmitted elsewhere beyond the immediate conversion request.

Camera & AR Usage

  • We request camera permission solely for real-time image recognition and augmented reality features via the Vuforia engine.
  • All video frames are processed on-device; no images or video are stored locally or sent to any third-party service.

Third-Party Services

  • OpenAI API: processes your AI Assistant requests in real time; no data is stored or used for any other purpose.
  • Meta Speech SDK: handles voice recognition and audio output; audio is neither stored nor transmitted beyond conversion.
  • Both services operate under their own privacy policies (see openai.com/policies/privacy-policy and developers.facebook.com/docs/meta-speech/privacy).

Security Measures

  • All network communications use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.2+). On-device data is protected according to platform best practices.
  • We conduct regular security reviews and adhere to secure coding standards.

Data Retention & Deletion

  • No user data is retained beyond the immediate session. If you believe any data has been stored inadvertently, please contact our Privacy Officer (see below) to request deletion.

Children’s Privacy

  • SRI XR is intended for users aged 13 and older.
  • We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Policy Updates

  • We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted with a revised “Effective Date.”
