Q1 Report Jan–Mar 2025
- April 4, 2025
The first quarter of the year has been dynamic and full of progress across education, health, sustainability, and immersive technologies. Here’s a breakdown of what we’ve been up to:
🩺 HealthOn XR – New Immersive Labs for Medical Education
We kicked off new collaborations with Greek universities to modernize health education through immersive technologies.
The first XR lab has already been delivered to the University of Patras, offering simulations for physiotherapy, nursing, and medical training.
More XR labs are currently under construction for additional institutions like the International Hellenic University, University of Ioannina and University of Aegean.
This marks a significant step in scaling XR in Health Education nationwide.
🏡 SRI-Train XR – Real-World Training in Extended Reality
Under the SUSTAIN Open Call 2, Pi tech launched SRI-Train XR, a project focused on real-world scenario training for soft skills, emergency preparedness, and communication.
The platform is already in active development, with a release planned by the end of the month.
The project enhances Pi tech’s reach into corporate training and simulation.
✅ MR@REAM – Earthquake Emergency Simulation with MR
The MR@REAM platform is now fully developed, following its final experimental deployment:
Two successful test runs led up to a final live test at Demokritos in partnership with NKUA (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens).
Developed under 6G-SANDBOX OC2, MR@REAM supports real-time Mixed Reality streaming for use in emergency response training.
🌱 Creative in Green – Sustainability Meets Creativity
Our newest Erasmus+ KA2 project is officially in motion.
Focused on supporting the dual digital and green transition of the European Audio-Visual and Multimedia sectors, the project harnesses the power of XR technologies to transform education and creative practices.
Pi tech is leading the XR and gamification content development, ensuring the learning experience is not only educational but also engaging and hands-on.
🌍 Edu Circular – Hosting the 2nd Transnational Meeting
Pi tech hosted the 2nd Transnational Meeting of the Edu Circular project in Greece.
The meeting brought together partners from across Europe to align on project goals, work packages, and dissemination strategy.
During the meeting, we officially launched the project’s website, discussed the XR game that will be developed, and began working on the lesson plans. These were later finalized in two follow-up online meetings.
📚 Internships & International Outreach
We proudly welcomed 22 students from Poland and Bulgaria to our headquarters for two-week XR internships.
These internships are part of our ongoing commitment to youth skills development and European collaboration.
Interns had hands-on experience with Unity, 3D modeling, and immersive content creation.

From immersive education to real-world training and green innovation, Q1 set the tone for what’s coming next:
More labs, more XR deployments, new platforms, and deeper collaborations across Europe.
